“It is in your power to withdraw yourself whenever you desire. Perfect tranquillity within consists in the good ordering of the mind, the realm of your own.” Marcus Aurelius

This Castello is the perfect place to retreat and immerse oneself in the beauty of nature and tranquillity. Accessed through the courtyard, just adjacent to the castle one can roam around in the vast park that has recently returned to new life, enriched by many rare plants, a heated swimming pool and a tennis court. The latter are barely visible and tucked away behind the beautifully landscaped trees and creepers.

The flat area with lawn around the fort is a perfect location for relaxing. The old fort, which is the most historical part of the building is located within its grounds, and arguably one of the most impressive parts of the Castle. It has been left untouched since the 17th Century when the construction of the Clock Tower by Cardinal Barberini took place. It is from here that one can truly appreciate the stunning rolling countryside, thanks to superb 360 degree views of the hills and some of Italy’s most spectacular mountains and ski resorts.

Being just 35 minutes away from a Golf Course and 40 minutes away from the skiing slopes in Abruzzo this is the ideal place to retreat and enjoy nature. The area is also surrounded by a natural reserve, lakes, historical sites, and an and extensive hunting area.

Returning to the Castle, one can then admire and stroll along the delightful garden shaded by a huge cedar of Lebanon, similar to those that Pope Urban VIII Barberini had planted in the Vatican gardens. In the inside of the Castle one can also wind down in its exclusive Spa with Jacuzzi and Sauna.
